Transcript The Student Council President MARY ANN CREIGHTON Vice-President GABBERT WILDER Secretory RUTH SP1VAK The Student Council is the senior governing body of the University of Houston. It consists of the presidents and vice-presidents of each class, two councilmen-at-Iarge and the council officers. The president, vice-president, and secretary of the Student Association hold the same respective offices in the council. Members of the Student Council are elected by.the student body. This year the Council has sponsored many outstanding activities, including the sale of War Bonds and Stamps and the passage of the bill providing for assemblies on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The group also aided the Cougar in search for an alma mater song and in the contest for selection of a cotton duchess. The Student Assembly The lower house of the governing body of the University is the Student Assemblv, whose president is the vice-president of the Student Council. The Assembly works with the Council and its membership, elected by the students, is composed of two representatives from each recognized campus organization. The Assembly is free to initiate bills that it deems necessary.
