Transcript Willis April 8th My Dear Son I am happy to be able to tell you that Sallie is improving, but she is not able to set up in bed yet - And it is with great difficulty we can find any nourishment that will agree with her stomach. Articles of food that she takes however delicate will sour and be vomited up hours afterwards This was the case all day yesterday - but today she has returned her food (stewed Catfish alone) up to this time half past 4 Oclock and is now sleeping quietly - Poor child she has suffered greatly - it unfortunate I came up as I did. Hope to come home Saturday morning I am most anxious to get back The fleas are simply awful - But strange to say with the all many discomforts I am sub -jected too I keep very well; Elliot too is as well as he can be - How often do I wonder how you all are getting along If I can get away to will go down on the Saturday mornings train, I and Ell can get home without any trouble. I will have to wait for this wintry weather to leave before turning our in the night air ---------------------------------------------------- Lest it would give me cold. Yesterday I received a letter from Mary Ashe in which she offers to come up if she can be of any service. Tell her for me that she need not come, as I think Sallie will soon be up unless she gets a back- set, and say to her also we all appreciate her kind offer && . Tell Sam Miss Carey Williamson has a job for him of extracting and making an upper set of teeth and also some teeth to fill - During vacation she says she can then give attention to the matter - I hear of several who wanted to have work done when he was here last An appointment of a few days here would doubtless pay him - We are fearing frost here tonight, how much I pity the farmers, as they were just beginning to recover from effects of the freeze some time back - Hope Asa is doing well and that I will find everything all safe With love to Sam & your -self Mary Jones Mrs Jordan has been quite unwell for a few days past, and just ten minutes ago Gaston came in & told us the Doct was quite sick something like a paraletic stroke
