Caption On lower left: "San Antonio, Tex. A POPULAR FLOAT - THE BATTLE OF FLOWERS" On reverse: "The most interesting place in San Antonio is the old Alamo, where, on March 6th, 1836, Travis, Crockett, Bowie, and others lost their lives - an event that was but a forerunner of the Battle of San Jacinto, April 22d, 1836. This is commemorated every year in a "Battle of Flowers," when the streets are lined with floats and vehicles almost hidden with floral decorations."
