Transcript FIESTA DEDICATION to Earl McMillian "Houston's Friendly Ford Dealer" is the title associated with Earl McMillian, and everyone who has ever met Mr. McMillian agrees whole-heartedly with this title; especially the student body of the University of Houston. We are proud to dedicate the 1955 Frontier Fiesta to our good friend, Earl McMillian. Mr. McMillian is a native Houstonian; his family has been here for over three generations. His tremendous interest in civic activities includes such organizations as the Houston Fat Stock Show, where he served as Executive Vice-President until his health forced him to retire; he was instrumental in founding the Farm and Ranch Club and served as its first president. He is an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a Past Potentate of Arabia Temple. It was through Mr. McMillian that the University of Houston Agriculture Department got its start. He has given this department numerous grants which include many new Ford Trucks. It was in 1949 that Mr. Earl McMillian first became associated with Frontier Fiesta. Searching for a prize for the winner of the Beard Contest, the 1949 Fiesta Chairman, Harry Scott, took a stab in the dark and asked Mr. McMillian if he would donate a used car for first prize. To Scott's surprise, Mr. McMillian said that he would not only donate a car ... he would donate a Brand New Ford! From that time on Mr. McMillian has been gracious enough to donate a Brand New Ford each year, and this year's Ford marks his sixth. In recognition of his efforts in behalf of Frontier Fiesta, Mr. Earl McMillian has been chosen as the person to whom this year's show is dedicated. We feel that there couldn't have been a finer choice. FRONTIER FIESTA ASSOCIATION.
