Transcript 10 I.W.Y. CONFERENCE Accommodations for several hundred California participants in the Noverber 18-20 I.W.Y. Conference will be needed. If you have or are familiar with several hundred spare bedrooms, call Renee Rabb at 862-4091. N.O.W. PERSONAL I would like to put forward this invitation to you readers of this Broadside to become more actively Involved in Houston Area N.O.W. Your financial and moral support are tremendously important in the struggle to promote equality and to end discrimination, but your personal contributions of time, energy, imagination, intelligence, and self are sorely needed also. Do not be lulled into thinking that the struggle for equal rights and human dignity is over or that the gains we have made are so conclusive that little effort will be needed to finish the job. On the contrary, there is much work to be done in many areas of endeavor. As long as women continue to make less money than men and are denied entrance into higher paying professional and skilled occupations, as long as we can't find adequate and reasonably affordable chlldcare for our children, as long as we are denied control over our own bodies, as long as our children may be taken away from us solely because we are lesbian mothers, as long as we do not enjoy equal protection under the law— and the list could go on for pages— there is work and a place for everyone in the struggle. Come join us. If you do not see something being worked on that you are interested in, start something yourself. There are probably others who are interested in the same thing. Linda Jones
