NOW REGIONAL CONFERENCE COMIN' UP IN MEMPHIS
On October 18-20 there will be a Southern regional conference of NOW at the Peabody
Hotel, 149 Union Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103, You all are invited to BOGGIE DOWN to
Memphis and get in on the action. The rates at the hotel arei single room, $13-17l
double room, $9-11 per person) 4 to a room (2 beds), $7 per person. To stay with

TN 38134. Prereglstration is $15 until October 10, then goes up to $20.
If there is enough Interest, we could charter a bus to go to Memphis. Please call
Jan Pierce at the Center If you'd be interested in traveling by bus; she will need
to know right away how many people might go.
BULLETINS FROM THE BOOB TUBE
There will be some good TV In October, and it's important that viewers write
to express their enthusiasm for these shows. Channel 8 is evaluating its
programming and to continue these programs, they will need community support.'

The "Viewpoint" show featuring Janice Blue, Jan Dilbeck, and Helen Copitka will
be re-run twice in October! at 10 P.M. October 10th and 5 P.M. October 13th.
Poppy Northcutt's show, "Women's Advocate," will be on at the unattractive
hour of 9:45 P.M. Tuesdays, but will be re-shown also on Wednesdays at 3:15 P.M.
Her October programs all deal with topics about women re-entering the Job market.
On October 1, Helen Copitka and Hattle Thurlow discuss how to chooe* and get a
jobi on October 6, they discuss problems of discrimination against women reentering the Job market. On October 15, Olga Soils and Helen Copitka discuss the
problems of minority women in the Job market. The topic on October 22 Is non-
traditional Jobs for woment Linda Lovell and Barbara Clgainero are the guests.
(Barbara wears a long pink dress.) On October 29, Cilia Estrada and Nary Ross
Rhyne talk about starting a small business. STAY TUNED:
The series shown last spring, "The Woman," is on again with new shows this fall.
It runs for half an hour each Tuesday at 8:30. On October 1st and 8th, the
subject is female sexualityi on October 15th, Margaret Sloan on black sisterhood|
October 22, "Mothers Who Leave Home" and on October 29, "Menopause: How to Cope."
