Transcript d) _h_ State Membership Coordinators, five (5) shall be duly elected by their respective area groups. The five Coordinators for Membership shall be responsible for maintaining current membership lists of NOW members throughout the state of Texas, by area and by affiliation status (chapter, convening chapters and groups); shall be responsible for coordinating area delegate at-large elections to conform with area delegate at-large requirements; shall act as state referral officials for all membership inquiries received by National and State NOW; and shall maintain contact with NOW membership coordinators in other states. e) The State Legislative Coordinator shall serve the Council and Convention in an advisory capacity to recommend legislative policy and priorities, serving as liaison with NOW's National Legislative Office as well as with other women's groups within the state of Texas with similar guidelines (BPWs.LWVs, TWPCs, etc.); and shall prescribe any activities which might serve to facilitate coordination of chapters and members in achieving national and state legislative goals. f) The State Communications Coordinator shall see that a record is made of official business of the Convention and Council meetings and that this record is disseminated to the chapters and members at-large within one month of the Convention or Council meetings; shall maintain a roster of State Council members; and shall be responsible for a state newsletter. 3) Vacancies In State Office: When a vacancy occurs in a state office between State Conventions, the State Council shall elect a replacement to serve until the next State Convention. VIII. NOMINATIONS FOR STATE OFFICERS shall be made by the person wishing to run (self nominations). IX. FINANCES: The State NOW organization shall be financed through voluntary contributions from chapters, depending on their size with the suggested guideline of one dollar ($1.00) per paid member, and such additional funds as the elected State Fund Raiser may obtain, including NOWLDEF project funds. X. PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY: Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised. XI. AMENDMENTS: These by-laws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those duly registered NOW members present and voting at the State Convention, provided that the amendments shall have been submitted in writing to the members at least four weeks prior to the Convention. XII. RESOLUTIONS: State Resolutions will be voted upon by the duly registered NOW members present and voting at the State Convention (2/3 of attendee members), provided that the resolutions are extensions of and/or in accord with National NOW Resolutions.
