Publicity - Linda Lampron and Sandra Hamilton
have agreed to set up an on-going publicity
program, Including monthly calendar information to local papers plus activity press releases, plus potential feature stories. If
you have specific ideas, call Sandra.
Voter Registration - Between now and deadline
for registration, we want to register as many
citizens as possible. Any resident can be
deputized to register voters. It takes five
minutes and costs nothing. If you are interested, let me know. We will either have
a Courthouse person present at our next meeting
to deputize people, or set up a special session
at the Courthouse.
Fundraising - Sandra Hamilton, with Bonnie
Dombroski are exploring fundraising ideas.
Strong possibilities are: a garage sale this
fall, a picnic/bazaar (bizarre?) next spring,
plus annual Christmas Chinese Auction (unless
you have a better idea). Check with Sandra
(1-948-0836) or Bonnie(471-1594).
Many thanks to Judy Snyder for her work
on setting up the new Telephone Team. It
worked so well that we had over 50 people
at out last Program Meeting, If you were
not called yet, let Judy know. (486-5565)
Many thanks also to the 17 Captains who have
agreed to call the members at least once a
month. Please try to get acquainted with
your Telephone Captain. The best thing we
can do is forge a strong network among ourselves so that we all can reach out with
confidence to our as-yet-uncommitted sisters. Come to the meetings, bring neighbors, friends, business associates, relatives .
Bay Area Chapter now has topped 100!!!!
We now have official members of record of
103. We are the 8th largest Chapter in the
State of Texas; BUT - surely each of you
knows one (1) other person who has never
attended a meeting but shares our concerns.
Bring her or him to our next meeting or at
least add their name to the mailing list
for a complimentary 3-month subscription to
PRES. STILL CONT.
A Texas Celebration for MS. Magazine's
10th Year, featuring Gloria Steinem -
June 28. It was a very timely, uplifting,
optimistic evening which very much helped
dispel the gloom of deadline. We laughed,
we cheered, and we rededicated ourselves to
a continued determined effort to achieve our 1

LAST, BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST - please note
the August meeting details on the cover.
Becky Monroe, Program Coordinator, has put
together an excellent program about the Bay-
town Shelter for Battered Women. We all
know battered women, but some of us just
don't know that we know them. They may live
next door, they may be our work associates,
they may be our sisters or daughters. It's
a problem and a vital issue that we should
be vitally concerned about and work very
hard to eliminate. Join us on:
August 5, 7:30 p.m. A Uniting Church
Reseda at El Camino, Clear Lake
SEE YOU THEN!
