Transcript TEXAS WOMEN'S POLITICAL CAUCUS fife 1208 Baylor NEWSLETTER Austin, Texas 78703 474-1798 STEERING C0»™ITTEE REPORT Jane Hickie and Cathy Bonner traveled to Washington in April to attend the first steering committee meeting under the new NWPC structure. The entire weekend was spent in meetings, where all but 12 states were represented...a new record for a national meeting! Sissy Farenthold, Chaiiperson, opened the meeting by saying since her election in Houston she had visited in over 15 states. There was a detailed report on the status of the ERA and a commitment by all state representatives where the ERA has not been adopted to devise strategy and plans for passage as soon as possibe. All states represented gave a report on the Caucus in their state. There seems to be great activity all over the country. One fact stood out—Texas is the only state to have a state office and professional staff! An Administration Committee was formed to take care of the day to day operations of the
