Transcript WOMEN'S ADVOCATE! Houston Area NOW member Nikki R. Van Hightower has been appointed City of Houston Women's Advocate. The appointment was announced May 17. Nikki has served as chair of our Employment Task Force and has been an active member of the chapter. She is a highly intelligent and capable feminist, who will be a credit to the city, and a real asset to the women of Houston. WOMEN'S MUSIC The May concert presented by Meg Christian, a lesbian- feminist singer, song-writer, guitarist, humorist and women's music entrepreneur (Olivia Records), was a unique and exciting event for the Houston feminist community. Meg's rapport with her audience heightened our sense of community, while the lyrics of her songs spoke to the warmest feelings women can have for each other. Many thanks to Pointblank Times for sponsoring one of the most talented persons to emerge from recent pioneering efforts in women's music. (Olivia Records are available at Abraxas.) Norma Lee WOMEN'S WORK Join us at 7:30 on June 2, at Clayton Library on Caroline, for our program meeting.
