The National Organization for Women is a civil rights organization pledged to work actively to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society NOW, exercising all the privileges and responsibilities thereof IN TRULY EQUAL PARTNERSHIP WITH MEN. NOW is not a women's organization. It is a group of men and women dedicated to action which will change the conditions which prevent women from developing to their full human potential. The Houston Area NOW Chapter, one of more than 100 chapters nationally, is composed of women in the professions, students, mothers, housewives, and men committed to working for basic changes in the lifestyle of Americans and breaking through the silken curtain of prejudice that has given both men and women such a limited view of their capacities to contribute to social progress. NOW in Houston is primarily concerned with working for equal employment opportunities, lobbying for a more humane abortion law, and working for more better-quality child care facilities. NOW realizes that women's problems are linked to many broader questions of social Justice. Convinced that human rights for all are indivisible, we give support to the common cause of equal rights for all those who suffer discrimination and deprivation, and we call upon other organizations committed to such goals to support our efforts towards equality for women. If you have questions about the Houston Area NOW Chapter or any as- pect of women's ri ght s call one of the following numbers: A.M.
