Transcript LESBIAN RIGHTS PHYLLIS TUCKER 944-0033 This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the "Gay Pride Rally and Parade". This event that began four years ago with only a handful of people and local harassment has become a grand affair which attracts thousands of supporters. The theme of Gay Pride Week for Houston, was ""UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY". Somehow that seems a fitting theme for NOW also. Kathy Webb, National NOW Secretary, was an honored guest of the Houston Gay Political Caucus and all NOW members can take pride in the welcome , that was shown her. We have come a of Houston towards the struggle for but we still have a long way to go. Gay fathers still face the threat of losing custody of their children in court battles. Lesbian women and Gay men still must deal with the possibility of losing their jobs, homes, families and friends when they admit to their lifestyles. THE STRUGGLE IS NOT OVER!!!!!!!!! long way in the city Lesbian/Gay Rights, Lesbian mothers and ACLUpublishes revised version of handbook on women's rights A REVISED handbook on women's rights has been published by the American Civil Liberties Union. Entitled The Rights of Women, Each handbook is $3.95, with a $1 charge for postage and handling, and may be ordered from the Literature Department, American Civil Liberties Union, 132 W. 43rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10036. In addition to the revised handbook on women's rights, the ACLU has published revisions of handbooks on The Rights of Gay People and The Rights of Prisoners and a new handbook.
