Vilhjalmsson on his last throw went 293-1 which would have eclipsed the previous meet record of 293-0. The victory is his ninth in ten meets this year. QUOTES: Vilhjalmsson: " I really wanted to go out and throw well today. After the prelims I wanted to prove I could throw 290 again. The wind changed just before my last throw so I just concentrated on getting the javelin high so that it would go further. Good competition like this brings out the best in me. When I'm under pressure it seems like good things happen. I have worked very hard lately and I just tried to throw it like I do in practice. The important thing is to stay relaxed. I believe 300 feet could come later this year. I'm excited about the upcoming season."
