Interior view of Robertson Stadium
Interior view of Robertson Stadium
TitleInterior view of Robertson Stadium
CreatorPayne, Harry [architect];
DescriptionA view of the interior of Robertson Stadium from the stadium bleachers. The stadium was originally named Jeppeson Stadium (for Holgar Jeppeson) and belonged to a number of owners before the University. Originally it belonged to the City of Houston and then to the Houston Independent School District. During this time it was used as a high school football stadium and the University was also allowed to use it. When Corbin J. Robertson funded the renovation and additions to the stadium it was given to the University. The stadium was originally occupied in 1942. The architect was Harry Payne. In this picture, the downtown skyline can be seen in the top right corner.
