DescriptionWomen wait in cafeteria line, interior, Cougar Den. The Cougar Den, initially known as the Recreation Building, was a popular campus hangout during the early years of the University. The building was initially occupied on March 12, 1942. Building construction was rushed to completion in 60 days to meet the demand of the growing student body after World War II. The building's architect was Lamar Cato. The building has since been demolished.
