| Description | A group of unidentified men and boys, both white and African-American, stands on the steps of the Houston Golf Club clubhouse. The club was built on 45 acres of land leased from Rice Institute, and located off San Felipe Road on the south side of Buffalo Bayou across from Glenwood Cemetery. In 1908 the Houston Golf Club moved to 156 acres purchased at the southeast corner of Harrisburg Avenue and South Wayside Drive. |
