DescriptionPrinted photograph of a building on the northeast corner of 19th and Ashland in the Heights area of Houston built by Oscar Martin Carter in the late 1890s. Originally the Heights Hotel, this photograph shows the building when it was in use as the Horne Sanatorium. Dr. J. Alvin Horne was manager from approximately 1906-1908. History of the building indicates it alternated use as a hotel and medical center over its life until it was destroyed by fire June 1, 1915.
