DescriptionL. L. Walker, hidden by a wing, sits at the controls of a Bleriot type airplane of his own design. Seven unidentified men stand around the plane. This photograph was taken at the start of Walker's attempt to fly to Galveston late in 1910. Walker only reached La Marque, Texas on that trip. He was the first Houstonian to fly an airplane.
