| Transcript | Monday Galveston [July 19th 1869] Dear Son I did not go up yes- terday as I was told the Boat would go at 3 Oclock & in place of that she left at about nine, no doubt you saw Mr Underwood Today Mrs Harrison is quite ill again, we have sent for Doct Heard and when he sees her I will then determine whether I will go home today or not and if I do go I have promis- ed to return immediately on the return Boat, so if you will write I can get it tom- orrow evening when I come aboard. Send me five dol- lars as Mrs Harrison has not seen English yet and is without money to bear my expenses down & up --------------------------------- home again. She wishes me to stay with her until she gets a settlement with En- glish and Mr Underwood and without some one to go out and attend to matters for her she can do nothing as she cannot leave her room even to go to her meals just as soon as she can get these two matters arranged she will return home with me & stay there un- til she is better - As ever your loving Mother M Jones I have determined to spend one day at home to get my clothes washed, So you can send the letter & money in it down Wednes- day evening by the Esa in place of the Whitelaw tomorrow as above mentioned By the Esa Wednesday [_ _ _] |
