| Transcript | Nov. 26/80 Dear Son I wrote you few lines yesterday telling you of Sallies being sick. I am glad to say that she is much better tho still under treatment - I think in a few days she will be able to set [sic] up again - Oh what cold cheerless weather we are having - how cold & cheerless our home must be to you without any fire when you come in damp & cold - I am almost crazy to get home - do try to get along a few days longer. Tell Ara I would like for her to wash the windows & to move the cooking stove back next to the dining room, she can get the same old colored man to assist her, set the safe where the sugar bbl has been all summer & the heat will warm the dining room as you will remember. Tell her to move all the bbls & boxes into the present kitchen & brush -------------------------------------------------------------------- the room all out nicely before moving the stove. Gaston got his satchel all safe he may go down by tonights train - I will drop in upon you the first change in the weather Tell Ara to look our for me In love Mary Jones This is all the paper I have [written upside down at bottom of page] Received your[s] of yesterday I think old Col B is in luck in get -ting a nice young wife |
