TranscriptMonday Morning Nov: 8th My Dear Son I received your welcome favor of the 6th Inst, was Sorry to hear of Sams being sick tho it is just what I expected hope he took medicine in time. Calomel would have set his Liver to acting and relieved his cold at once. hope to hear from you today. Sallie is getting along splen -didly. I never saw her get along with so little sufiring at such a time, nor be so free from it after a confinement before both her and myself are surprised. You know her nerviousm[sic] she has always been in any sickness she has had. She said yesterday she did not know what had become of her nerves, as no ordin -ary noise disturbed her. But notwith- standing all I am taking all care possible lest she might yet take a bad turn she has plenty of milk for her baby ---------------------------------------------------- and she too, is doing well with the exception of cold which is affecting her bowels to some extent causing the little one some uneasiness tho today she seems quiet, and I hope will get along more comfortably from this on. Gaston went to Montgomery today, but expects to return this evening he looks badly & complains some as with his bowels, being affected in the way as I mine was. Doct Jordan is improving tho slowly. I keep perfectly well, take all the care of myself possible to keep well Elliot has a cold, but is up and gone to school today. I send him as the best way of taking care of him am so thankful you have beat Turner a respectable majority.
