| Transcript | Saturday Nov. 6th My Dear Son, As Mary Ashe has posted Mrs Ashe up, and being quite buisy [sic] all day yesterday I deferred writing you until today. I found Sallie sick from what appeared to be indigestion. all night the Tuesday she had been very sick vomiting frequently but when I reached here she was better tho still sick at her stomach. And not until 8 Oclock did she have any pain that indicated her time had come to be con- fined. about ten Oclock she become quiet until morning when pain came on again, and at 5 Oclock she gave birth to a daughter, both are doing well I have never seen Sallie ------------------------------------ have as easy & good a time before and up to now 4 Oclock she is as bright and comfortable as can be. She says however that it don't seem possible she can go on so well. But I hope with care she will and that this time she will esca- -pe that terrible after sick- ness. As to the Gal baby she is a very pretty child for her age, and all are delighted with the her advent. Willie could not go to school yesterday for admiring her little Sister. Ell & I keep well Ell. goes to school to Miss William son with Willie. Tell Ara I think of home - and wonder how she is getting along. I hope to hear from home today, as Sam was so complaining ---------------------------------------- I have not failed to read with much satisfaction the result of the Election in Harris Co. even if Mc Comb is with others on our Ticket is elected to keep me posted, as to how you get along at home. Doct J is improving very slowly is very low spirited about his recovery had not as Sam sug- gested been drinking doubtless had not taken enough. Gaston is going about but is feeble yet.
