TranscriptWillis the 27th./79 My Dear Son Yours of the 25th Inst, rece- -ived yesterday, contents all noted I regret the delay in getting the House, as we may be overtaken by Cold rainy weather, and be further delayed on that account I dread moving so much under any any circumstances that I almost feel tempted to remain here this winter, or until you could purchase a place. What think you of the suggestion. I am perfectly willing to remain if you think it would subserve our in -terests best. I will see Mr. Jaycope soon. He has not rented the place I think there are but few willing to give $8.00 dol. pr. month. And should you think best for me to stay here I will try to get it for less ---------------------------------------------- Sam is doing a "land office" busi- ness here, has all he can do from 7 Oclock until dark. And last night took an impression after dark. I don't know when he will get off, perhaps tomorrow if there is a break in business here. He holds our the idea that it is purely to accommodate of friends that he is prolonging his stay. Poore Mrs. Gregg how my heart aches when I think of her _ sad fate. Has her Sister come on yet? Sam told me they had dispatched to her when Mrs. Gregg returned to Houston. Sis' house is all torn up fixing it up, I am so glad to see it. I trust she may have better health when she is more comfortable. Let me hear from you at once.
