| Transcript | Willis Dec. 14th 1879 My Dear Son Your welcome favor of the 10th Inst. came duly to hand. Contents all noted Tomorrow I will (weather permitting) send my household "traps" to the depot. Sam will mark them for me. I would have sent them off yesterday, but for the day being too cold for me to turn out to attend -to having them marked &c &c I have sold my stove as it did no suit me in all as- -pects. As the house is already rented, & the party anxiously waiting for me to get out I think it will be better to move all my effects at once as then the trouble will be done. My old Bureau & washstand will by a little brushing up answer for a back bedroom until we can get better ones I will bring four nice hens & a rooster, and a few Turkeys with me. I have some nice butter & a few Eggs will try to get some more before leaving No one knows my dear child how anxiously impatient I am to get settled I feel almost worn out, with my poore --------------------------------------------------------- health and unsettled condition Young people do not suffer like an old person does from such causes, while no blame attaches to you for the delay I am sure. I trust and hope that I may not have to move but once more should it please you our father above to spare me here awhile longer. I find it impossible to stand much fatique therefore have worked slowly in pack- -ing my effects. For the last few days I have felt quite well for me Sam says he is going down Wednesday Look for me with him Affectionately Your Mother Mary Jones I will get a cooking stove when I come down Look out for my thing any day after tomorow. I will send you by mail a list of everything. I have been at Sallies since last Thursday evening Mr. Jaycope has been very obliging in many ways. I will write tomorrow too tired mow to do so my things are at the depot |
