| Transcript | Willis July 19th 1879 My Dear Son Since Mrs. Ashe left I have found that I could not get ready to go down before Tuesday morning in place of Monday as I then thought. So you may lookout for me Tuesday morning I regret being form home just at this time as in a few days the peaches here will be ripe enough to use And I shall not be surprised to find them all stolen when I return. But I will be down nevertheless. So far as my being of any service to you Bi in the Biography of you are preparing I fear my thoughts will be too much Diverted. I find the least little change out of the quiet routine unsettles and unfits me for serious sober thinking, or ability for recalling the past connectedly. I need quiet and time to enable me to review ----------------------------------------------- the past. Tell Mrs. Ashe I will bring her Parasol.
