TranscriptWillis June 1st 1878 My Dear Son Your note & the Deed of yesterdays date reached me this morning & without delay I went out in search of a Notary public, and have the matter now ready to return to you all properly executed I believe. Why is it Sallie & Gaston are not called upon to sign the Deed? or is my deed sufficient? for the Children. I am as you see a little puzzled since I wrote you last I went up to look at our new quarters and like it much tho the house is in an unfinished condi- tion it is decidedly and airy summer house tho in a very pleasent part of the Town & can be made comfortable I hope before the winter comes on. Gaston has moved the mill & is grinding there today, at dinner time had ground fifty bushels & still more corn coming all the time. We in -tend to move next Tuesday if we can get a load of our furniture brought in from the former place of abode where they were left for want of room here ----------------------------------------------------- This morning I received a letter fro Sam of date May 26th he was quite well & wrote as usual in good spirits, said he had made & put in some teeth for a lady from Virginia which gave great satisfaction, she prom -ised to send her friends to him &c &c I have nothing of interest to communicate that I can think of we are having very warm weather which you have found our yourself no doubt, although you are not surrounded with tall timber to obstruct the breeze as we are here Affectionately your Mother Mary Jones. If convenient send me an other remittance by Monday Mail. As this second move has run us all ashore again
