| Transcript | Near Moulton Augst, 13th./77 Dear Son I write to say I am still in the land of the living. Saturday last I received a short note from Sam saying Nellie had been very sick, but was improving at the time he wrote Augst 6th. He said nothing about Sallies hav- ing been sick. Elliot is improving his cough has pretty much left him. My own health is very good There is some little sickness out here thought nothing serious Sister Miran- das oldest Son & daughter have both had an attack of fever are now over it Sister Eliza is not in good health yet not down sick. This will be handed you by a Nephew of Mr. Ardoins. I do not remember his name, Joe Nations will see him in the morning and put his mane on the envelope himself Uncle and Step Father have been here on a visit are Louisianans are French ------------------------------------------------ they seem to be nice men show them some attention if you can With best wishes and Much love your Mother M.
