| Transcript | Willis April 29th 1876 My Dear Son Today Mr. Grove came in from Gastons neighborhood, all well out there, and Gas sent word to me to be in readiness that he would come in for me next Tuesday. I have inten- ded every day since the reception of you letter of the 25th Inst, to drop you a line in acknowl -egement of it, and the Post Office money order (which of course was paid me, ) but have not felt so unsettled and upset that I have not felt much like writing , but now that the day is fixed upon I feel relieved somewhat, and write to say that hereafter you will address to Grand Lake. And that if you can do so to send me up money to Square up here before leaving I will be here a little over half a month, that is if I get off next Wednsday &c &c ; I will write to Sam before leaving, also to Brothers family & my Sisters our West. I received a letter yester -day fpr Brothers wife, all well there. And they ------------------------------------------------------------ will not come down to the Fair. They gave me an invitation to go up and spend the summer with them said they would have plenty of Fruit Fruit. But if I can go any where I would prefer going out West to see my Sisters there. I want to get me two pairs of soles cut & holes made in them to make slippers for the summer the two pairs of soles & material for tops will not cost me as much as one pair of slippers & then they will last & fit better than those I can buy. I have had a pair of shoes half soled here which makes my shoes as good as new again I suppose you could not spare time to come up before I leave With best wishes & much love Affectionately Your Mother Mary Jones Mr. Grove told me today that he was a Law Pupil of yours, he seemed delighted with the kind interest you were taking in instructing him and seems hopeful of success. Please hand the enclosed note for Miss Mary to her write me before I leave here |
