| Transcript | Sunday Willis Dec 12th./75 Dear Son No doubt you will be surprised to learn that that we are upon the eve of an-other move, Gaston has purchased a place about three miles form where he put up his Gin and intends moving to it within the next ten days - weather permitting. Sallie will go out when her house hold effects go & I will stay at Mrs Jordans for a few weeks until they can get some more room then I will go too Don't be worried about me. I hope to get along. My health is good, and as long as I am well I can get along until we can do better if there is may better in store for me Your letter inclosing the Ten dollars came safely & I intended to have acknowledged the receit of it earlier, but all this week we have been in confusion having ------------------------------------------------------- a new roof put on over out heads this cold weather, a nice time for such a job with Mr Sandals permission we will re- main here until we are ready to move but in case he needs the house for an other renter we will go to Doct Jordans. I have one of the papers you wrote for and may find the other under the Carpet when I take it up will save it & the one I have saved for you I hear from Sam occasionally & that he has plenty to do. Gaston will be in Houston in a few days & can tell you more about his plans than I have time to write at present. Will write you more at length as soon as I can find quiet & time. I have not been able to make you a comfort as I intended owing to bad weather & Sallies being sick for ten days, hope you have purchased one as I know you needed it this cold weather _ Elliot is as fat as a pig & I am very well With much love & best wishes for you As ever Your loving Mother Mary Jones |
