| Transcript | Willis Nov. 9th./75 My Dear Son I fully intended to have droped you a line immediately upon my return home, but as is usual with me have found so many demands upon my time that I have defered it until necessity made me take up my pen. Gaston is still without means to refund to me for what I have let him have, please send me ten dollars as the rent will be due the 12th of this month. I met all at the Depot with smiling faces. The Apples were a great treat so also were the Pairs [sic], The Wheel barrow delighted all the Children Charley has brought up as much wood as a mule could have hauled. They are all keeping it going Charlie brings Chips of wood Elliot and Willie wheel any little play things the may have in it, it is kept in my room when it rains & today as it is too cold ---------------------------------------------------- for Elliot to go out with it. Well we are having a cold disagreeable day today but have plenty of wood & good fires With best wishes and much love, from your loving Mother Mary Jones. Write me soon |
