| Transcript | Willis July 24th 1875 Dear Son I drop you a line by Miss Mary if she goes tonight to say merely that I am very well & came near making you all a visit this last week, but for being a little sick the first of the week & again Sallie has been very complaining since her retu -rn form Boggy. I finally gave up going for that & other good reasons, I am so sorry I wrote to Sam that I would be in Houston this week & to meet me there to see baby, who by the by is getting as fat as a pig. Well do write and tell me something I feel like I was almost buried although amid plenty of living moving humanity. Still I feel no interest in anything concerning them nor they in me There is at this time a gathering up of Methodist here attending Conference & having quarterly meeting at the same time. Musquitoes are almost as bad here as at out former places of abode ------------------------------------------------------------ how are you getting along this terrible hot weather, or so it seems here I am still thinking of going out West about the first of Sept. My Sisters write very urgent for me to come. With best wishes for your health and all that concerns you As ever your Mother Mary Jones. Oh I had forgotten until writing the day of the month that another birth day had arrived. |
