| Transcript | (Tuesday) Oct. 24 1872 My Dear Son Yours on the 21st that reached me last evening. I found the "Book" you wrote for & have it all ready to send up by Gaston this evening to the Burg Mr. Sam Ashe no doubt can send it up soon by some one I have learned from Gaston since writing you on Tuesday last that you expected to be down at Mr. Ashes next Court next Sat. week. And as I requested You to meet me at the "Burg" this coming Saturday I now write again to say that it will make no difference about seeing you until you come down to Court, at which time I will try to be there to "Talk up matters with you." but in case the weather is unsuitable for one suffering with Rheumatism more or less to turn out would like very much if you could come down to see me here I will try to have all the Texas Laws & Journals in a state of readiness so you can take them up, with you, or send them up on the Boat from Hog Island I earnestly hope you may get the money from Cordova their using this money is a breach of trust, and I think cannot fail to place the parties in rather an unpleasant predicament to say the least of it We are all well, my own health is improving with best wished & much love I am as ever Your loving Mother Mary Jones. |
