| Transcript | May 28th, 1870 [in another's hand] Dear Crommy I wish you can Sam Ashe to look over my letters & see if I have said too much or too little, and send off the letters I wish to Give Mrs Saml Ashe a power of Attorny to make titles for us all to any loose or doubtful property Norwood may find in Austin so as to save delay and so much trouble. I have not time to write you fully. I wished to let Norwood off as easy as possible so gave him a list of lots to look up he cant hurt any one at this business in case any other letter has come from him read it and see what its im= port is and whether any action is must to be had if he has effected sales I am not well been feeling half sick ever since I came home Tell the father of my little nigger that he is very well and is a good boy & a pet with us all - Indeed he is a very consider- able help ------------------------------------------------- and I want to keep him as long as possible I will send him up to see his folks when Sam goes up in the Boat Your loving Mother M Jones Do ask Sam Ashe to tell you what is best for us to do in reg= gard to paying Taxes I wish to be rid of the matter but will abide his decision M Jones Send me some envelopes paid & not paid [Integral address leaf] Cromwell |
