| Transcript | Nov 22nd , 1869 [In another's hand Dear Crommy I write you a few lines, as I have thought of an other article I want a Balmoral skirt, and the remnants of Calico you spoke of sending, Any color will be useful, as I can make aprons of the dark or purple pieces and can put the light ones into bed quilts - Don't forget to send three pocket hand kerchiefs. And some money to pay my expenses to Galves- ton - I will send the hides up some= time by Sam. Could you send me five dollars in specie beside what I want for my trip to Gal, it is to pay a bill for Betsey which will go toward her wages here, I am thinking of taking her to Gal- as I see no prospect of her being of any more service to me, first her & then Nellie are laid up all the time, and realy they are a -------------------------------------------- nothing but an expense & trouble and have been for the two months past - it is lay up and eat all the time until I am tired of the fun now if you cant spare the five dollars just now, I can wait for it a while longer. I liked the dress you sent me very much, am making it up.
