| Description | Lillie Cranz was born in Schulenberg, Texas, the only daughter of Gustav and Agnes Kessler Cranz. She married Hugh Roy Cullen in 1903. She and her husband established the Cullen Foundation in 1948, the same year they presided at the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Ezekiel W. Cullen building. For many years she dedicated herself to philanthropy and in 1947 she received the first Doctor of Laws degree conferred by the University of Houston. | ||
