DescriptionHand-written manuscript that recounts the events of Minnie Fisher Cunningham's family during the years after the end of the Civil War. She writes of her father's plan to increase his land holdings to grow more cotton and to rebuild the family house with a larger kitchen. The manuscript also recalls her mother's inability to find a cook midway through the year after the previous cook died, because the staff were hired on annual contracts. She also recalls that her father ordered artificial ice to be delivered to the house when her mother was ill. She also recounts her mother's visit to New Orleans.
