TitleObituary (memorial service program) for DJ Screw
DescriptionDJ Screw, or Robert Earl Davis, Jr., made his mark on the world by creating a new production technique called "chopped and screwed, " which was distributed on popular mixtapes that also featured local rappers freestyling. He released hundreds of mixtapes, recorded four albums, opened a store that sold only DJ Screw tapes, and gave dozens of Houston rappers their starts. On November 16, 2000, DJ Screw was found dead in his recording studio at the age of twenty-nine.
